Family and Writing

Like so many "working individuals" there are times when family and your "job or career" tend to butt heads so to speak. Last week was one of THOSE times for me. I have two special needs family members. I love them both dearly but they are what most may term as being "high maintenance". I prefer to explain them as being "challenging" not only in the sense that they have many challenges to overcome and/or learn to deal with as they face what those without physical/mental/emotional challenges take for granted but also in the sense that I find that the manner in which I handle them is very challenging. This is no more evident than when my special needs daughter has grown into a teen. She like many others who have waded through the teen years has discovered that she is confused by her need to be independent when she still desires to enjoy the protection of home and parent. My husband on the other hand had major abdominal surgery and then during the first 6 days following discharge from the hospital found himself in the emergency room twice. Needless to say the occurrence of a crisis with my daughter's mental health on Sunday night/Monday morning resulting in a 2 1/2 hour appointment on Monday that had to be managed alongside two other medical appointments and her therapeutic riding lesson all on the same day as well as dealing with my husband's surgery the very next day resulted in two lost work days back-to-back. Two lost work days in one week when I am trying to launch my PLRcontentNOW.com membership left me feeling very frustrated, and torn between the need to be there for those I love and the need to be diligent in working my writing business because the income from that business is what feeds, clothes and provides shelter for us. Can you feel my "being torn between two opposing yet intertwined needs"?

I know that it does not matter what walk of life we are on, we all feel torn or pulled in different directions from time to time. Those of us who have been blessed with these very unique and totally awesome special family members perhaps experience these times more often than those who can only read about what it is like to have such truly amazing members. Words are not adequate to describe how I am feeling right now. My faith in God has always sustained me and lifted me up in times such as these and I know that I will look back on these days sometime in the near future and see God's footprints carrying me and for this I am grateful and yes, the knowledge brings me comfort.

Thank you dear readers for your support and for taking the time to read my blog. Until next time...may your days be filled with happiness and wonderful adventures!

We are in our new home YEAH

We moved on the 26th a day earlier than we anticipated. I was of course not finished packing yet but my brother insisted that we move a day early to prevent my Dad from doing too much. We loaded up the trailer and headed to our new home. We ended up breaking 3 items when they fell off the trailer :(

I also left my spice drawer behind and I cannot find my angel plaque that I always kept by the front door. I collect angels so this is distressing. Other than breaking those items and missing my plaque the move went smoothly and we are all very happy with our new home.

Unfortunately two days before the move, my main client decided he did not require my services anymore. I guess 1,500 reviews are enough for him for now. I am scrambling to replace that income. I have 3 projects that I am currently working on. I am selling several of my domain names on Ebay, I have a gift basket blog that I am creating and I am writing a Ebook.

Today is July 4th., so happy Independence Day to everyone! Happy Birthday America!
