My Career In Review

I am finishing my 25th month as a ghostwriter. I started out 25 months ago with earnings of $0.00 a month from my online efforts and now 25 months later I earn more than $1600 month with some months more than $2000.00. Not too shabby of an income considering that many people fail to earn money at all online for the efforts they put worth. There are a lot of scams online that prey on those who wish to make an income working from home on the computer. I count my blessings every night that I was able to find a reliable client to work with. This client and I recently renegotiated our contract so my pay is on a consistent weekly basis instead of being paid as the articles are done. This arrangement suits both of us better.

There have been a lot of changes over the past 25 months as I struggle to create a Web presence that I am proud of and that I can showcase my articles, ebooks and reports that I make available for public purchase.

I have dabbled in the PLR market and struggle to be able to get a ebookstore Website up to my satisfaction. Perhaps I am too picky about how the site looks, but it has taken a while to get it to the point that it is today. This particular venture needs some work as I recently switched hosting companies and the learning curve is more than I can handle right now. I may offer my brother (not the same one I was partner's with previously) a piece of the income pie in exchange for his technical help with this site. I am still debating this decision before I offer my proposal to him.

Recently I purchased Quintile.info so that I can put up batches of articles that I author and will offer up for purchase. All of the articles will be content rich and perfect for any Web content purpose. I intend to state the word count and subject and then a Paypal purchase button for each batch. To draw visitors I will write free articles and place them on the site.

End of Summer Update

As usual, so much has happened since the last post :)

My brother and I are no longer business partners as so often happens family members do not always make good business partners and he is now partners with someone else. I am OK with that as a partnership has to be well partners and not all one-sided. I still love the AMWdiningdirectory.com site and know that my brother and his new partner are doing a bang-up job for the Ashland, Mansfield, Wooster Ohio dining customers. I wish them well and visit the site often to find out which restaurants have been added and where my family should go to eat on the few occasions that we spurge for a meal out.

I am still supporting my small family with just the earnings from my writings which is no small feat in today's economy. I am pretty proud of my accomplishments but would love to increase the earnings from my two Websites: Joyfulwraps.com and Organicgardensgreen.com I have done a lot of work on both sites getting them ready to open to the public. I am revamping Joyfulwraps to include both ebooks and physical products in complimentary categories. The transformation is taking longer than I expected. I am pleased with how the organicgardensgreen site is coming along. I hit a big snag making autoresponder company changes in Aug which delayed the launch of the site by 2 weeks but I am really pleased with the current company Trafficwave and it has been well worth the wait to have them onboard as serving my autoreponder needs. I really feel that my Website customer's will be happy with the quick service I can offer them in regards to getting all the free reports and special offer products out to them on a timely manner.

I am already getting my marketing plan into gear and should be ready for the Holiday shopping season by the end of September.

Exploring the offline writing world by applying for a position with the Ashland Times-Gazette as a writer. The possibilities are exciting, but I kind of like my life now without the hectic life of being tied to a job that is "outside of the home"....although a steady paycheck and possible medical benefits are tempting.

On a personal note: The Ashland County Fair hits our area (we live approximately 14 miles from the city of Ashland, Ohio) from 9/14 through 9/20 and my daughters are excited. They both entered projects this year. One daughter in the floral category and the other in baking through their school. One daughter is also in a 4H group and participating in the fair in that capacity as well, so lots of activity in our household lately due to the upcoming fair days.

We had planned on adding to our animals by purchasing two pygmy goats this year at the fair, but we are not quite ready for them. I planned on having a fenced in back yard before bringing them into our family unit. I have been told that tying them down outside or building an outdoor pen would be ok too...but we already have plenty of pen space as we have a huge 2 car garage that is well set up for them. Maybe next year we will be bringing home some pygmy goats...so stay tuned :)

Adventures in Gardening

Have you ever had an itch to get out there in the sunshine and dig around in the dirt, plant seeds or young green plants? I live in Ohio out in the country where farmers plant huge fields of acre after acre of corn.

My interest in the topic is organic gardening. My family and I purchase organic foods when it is possible to do so. Learning how to organically garden is not that difficult. I believe in helping others to discover just how easy it is to garden the organic way, so I build a Website devoted to the art of growing a garden especially organic gardening.

You can visit my Website and read articles about gardening at:

Title: WARNING: @ 5:06a my internal spell check works lousy and my TYPO finger works GREAT

Our 10+y/o dog, Chocolate has been getting me up around 5a for like the past week and a half and now by body is re-trained to getting tired around 9p instead of 1a and waking around 5a instead of 7a.

GGGGRRRR please dog, I want my sleep back cause there is NO way I can get to bed much before midnight or 12:30a as hard as I might try!

Today she woke me at 3:55a YUP....and hour early! I let her out, then back in cause at minus 15 degrees F wind chill, I don't tear go back to bed til she is let back in as she would freeze to death if I fell back to sleep with her outside yet.

So I hit the covers after letting her in and then @ 4:45a she awakes me again and leads me to Celine's bedroom to show me she is sleeping on the floor with tons of blankets on...ummmmmmm, I say, "yes Chocolate" (who is now curled up on the floor at my youngest daughter's head), I say to the dog, "know she is on the floor!" At which point in this human/dog conversation my sleepy daughter lifts her head and mumbles, "What?" Go back to sleep, sweetie", I quietly whisper.

What an amazing guard dog huh? She knows my daughter does not belong on the floor. I am quite certain that she was too tired from watching tv to crawl back into bed so just gathered the blankets she had been cacooned in while watcing Disney Channel and just passed out there.

LOL

I know I won't be able to go back to bed....so here I sit typing this blog post and getting ready to start on my "depression in the elderly" batch of articles for my main client...have a great weekend my dear (probably NOT sleep deprived) readers!

My first post of 2008

So much has happened since my last post in December. The holidays were great. Christmas eve found my small family gathered at the little congregation across the street as we listened to the traditional story of Christ's birth and sang Christmas carols. The service was candlelight and so peaceful. The new year holiday is always such a time of reflection and remembrance of all the hopes and challenges of the year just ended. The year had been filled with many trials and triumphs for both my writing career and for my personal life.

My Website Joyfulwraps.com is really becoming quite the ebook treasure place and I am hoping to load up all of my ebooks that I have written very soon.

Doug, my youngest brother and I went into business together at the end of 2007. We now run AMWdiningdirectory.com for the Ashland, Mansfield, Wooster area restaurants. I am really looking forward to watching our business grow over the years. It should be a nice monthly income to supplement my writing career.

I would like to send out warm wishes for a healthy and happy 2008 for all of my blog readers.

Take care everyone!
