It has been a while since I posted. The reason I have not posted is because my family moved in August to the country, well what the country is in Ohio. We now live by cows, pigs, chickens and lots of horses. Nothing is near us so we have to drive long distances to get anywhere...my daughter's school, the store, bank, library...my gasoline budget is bigger than our house payment!
I have been writing steadily for my main client and selling items in my Ebay store. I have actually decided to sell infant/toddler and children's clothing and that has gone really well so far. I have just found an excellent supplier of recycled and natural office products. I am working on setting up my Website so that I can exclusively sell there instead of on Ebay as the fees there are outrageous! I will be writing articles about Ebay and putting them up on ebaysellertips.info my new Website. So I will be combining my love of selling with my love of writing...should be interesting! Stay tuned.
Have a happy holiday season everyone!

I am excited, the end is near
The end of my degree program that is!
I am currently in the 2nd to last term of my Bachelor of Science in Business Degree Program. I have 6 more weeks of this term and then a 1 week break before my last 10 week term begins. My last official day of class will be September 11, 2007.
One of the 3 classes I am taking this term is called: Advanced Career Development and it has proven to be very thought provoking. What do I want to do upon graduation? There is a point to all this studying and sleep deprivation! I really need to be bringing home larger pieces of bacon. Ohio in general has a sluggish economy and job market and the city I live in is starting to boom for retail, but is there a place for a writer?
This coming Friday (5/18), my younger brother will be picking my girls and I up early in the morning and we will be spending all day with him and his family as we explore his hometown of Ashland, Ohio. We will be looking at Jr. Highs, the career opportunities for me and possible residential areas. I would love to move near my brothers and my younger brother's family (2 nephews and a niece & of course his wife). I have one possible position as a technical writer for a research lab that I am going to pursue to see if it is a good fit.
The possibility to have the small farm I have always dreamed of is exciting. Moving again, well, that is another story. Moving is hard work! Getting to know another neighborhood can be exciting and frustrating. I wonder how my daughters would handle another move with this home finally feeling like home after almost 4 years. I wonder how our 4 female cats + newly rescued male cat and our 3 female dogs will like living in the country? My youngest will miss her friends being right across the street. I vowed to her, that if we do move, that I will make every effort to make sure they see each other every weekend. She told me this morning, "but mom, look at how high the gasoline prices will go this summer $4 a gallon, how will you be able to do that?" with eyes rolling LOL, how the heck does a eleven y/o know so much about economics? Guess that's what I get for homeschooling my kids....they grow up smart!
I really want to continue to write for a living and I do know that getting my degree was vital to being able to support my daughters comfortably. Freelancing is great and I love it that I have been a stay at home mom for 13.5 years now; but the possibilities are just a little scary. Funny how something you look forward to, can also seem intimidating at the same time. No matter what path my career takes after graduation, I know that I will continue my freelance writing as I love working with clients from all over the world. I have been able to do some really great research into some fascinating topics! I really enjoy creating something from a blank screen and see the finished product and hear the positive response from my clients. I know what I do has value to others.
Where ever the next chapter in my life takes me, I am sure that God will continue to use my talents. I am really looking forward to the journey!
Peace everyone :)

Reflections
Have you ever gazed at your refection in the mirror as you passed by, then came back for a double take? "Is that really me" you gasp. When did I turn grey, get all wrinkled, grow that double-chin?....(you add what's appropriate for you).
All day you ponder when it all came about, where were you when this change was sneaking up on you? Are you really that absorbed in your work, that you lose sight of well......you?
Today was one of those days for me. I declared today to be a rare "rest day". I can't even remember when I took a day "just for me". The last 7 weeks have been non-stop college and business Monday - Saturday and even Sunday nights I've had to sneak some business or college time in after all my worship/family time had basically been spent and my kids were tucked into their beds.
The income has been steady thanks to my non-stop push, but I have failed miserably at keeping my home clean and orderly. Even my kids have noticed the state of perpetual mess our home has been in as of late.
My reflections turned to possible solutions.....
hire a maid service?.....nah, the thought of strangers in my kitchen makes me shudder!
Try for a 9 - 5 business routine?.....hmmmmm if only my creative juices could be put on a time clock!
Motivate the kids to do more chores!.....yeah right, get real mom! Actually my 11 y/o can be a real blessing with laundry and taking care of the dogs and cats, just not consistently, enough to make any real impact.
My last class is scheduled for September 11, 2007...yeah. That will free up a lot of time. What to do in the meantime?
After much thought, I have decided to do all I can to automate my business as soon as possible. I have got to get PlrArticlesNow.com up and running so that it can start generating income.
I would like to ease off the individual client jobs and start offering batches of PLR articles and PLR reports. This way I can pick the topics based on availability of information and target niche - hot markets. I can write when I have the time and inspiration and set up the batches with downloads of 25 for each topic. This will allow me to better budget my business time.
It would be great to have more time to concentrate on writing for my projects instead of spending 12 - 16 hour days writing for other people, just so they can make money off of my articles and reports.
I love writing! I have really enjoyed writing for others, but I am only being paid once for each quality article that I spend a lot of time writing and the people I write for turn around and use it to make money over and over and over again....making more money on what I write, than I do!
My writings are top quality and I have two kids to feed, clothe and provide a roof for, I should be making all I can from each of my creative efforts. If anyone benefits from my time and efforts, it should be my children and I.
Will PlrArticlesNow.com achieve this for us? Is there another way to make the kind of money online that will support us comfortably?
This will require more thinking, so stay tuned, my faithful reader.
Take care

Joyfulwraps Musings
My Freelance Writer Website Joyfulwraps.com turned 1 on March 10, 2007. To celebrate I created a WSO on the Warrior forum. I am proud to be a member of this forum and love to be able to give back just a little something from time to time. Many warriors took advantage of my celebratory WSO "celebrate with me sale" offering a name your price format.
Needless to say I have been very, very busy between writing articles, reviews, reports and blog entries; as well as keeping up with case studies, papers, discussion questions and general studying for my college classes. My kids have started to think that mom is glued to the computer desk and chair (yup, I still have a desktop PC).
Today, March 19th I opened up my "name your price sale" to my Website visitors. The Website sale will continue until midnight of March 31, 2007.
On April 1, 2007 there will be a very slight price increase and multiple Paypal buttons with various buy now options displayed on the site.
In February I debuted my latest project plrarticlesnow.com through the warrior forum as a market test, I made a mistake regarding it's exclusiveness so the traffic to the challenge forum which is a major part of the marketing machine was crippled for 3 mos. I'm trying to rectify the situation with help from fellow warriors. My business has flourished over the last few months so putting off the launch of plrarticlesnow.com to the public will not really hurt my income. It is designed to free up my time by offering pre-made articles and reports. It will also increase my income as I will be offering them in batches of 25.
Now, you know why I have not posted since December, I've been super busy! I'm not complaining though....just sleep deprived :)
Take care my readers!
Stay tuned for more exciting developments :)
